Where should the lift tabs and garvies/p-pins be placed?

Lift tabs are used to lift the screen in and out of the window, while garvies are metal pieces that stick out of the frame to secure it in place. Sometimes p-pins are used instead of garvies. Lift tabs and garvies/p-pins are typically put at opposite sides of the screen.
